Football Friday: Meet Dallas+ Giveaway!

Just in case you missed it, last week Football Friday's were created to introduce to you many of the wonderful characters of the new novel All Lined Up, by Cora Carmack! Carson McClain was our first Football Friday character and this week I bring you the main heroine herself, Dallas Cole!

A feisty red head, who is beyond brutally honest and a tad bit insecure. When it comes to being emotional, that's best to be left to her dancing. It's how our heroine likes to work through all of her emotions. Dallas' motto is kind of like Elsa from Frozen. Conceal don't feel because if you don't give yourself a chance to feel anything you can't get hurt. Being raised by a football coach her whole life she's learned to have tough skin.

Known all her life as "Coach Cole's Daughter" she has wanted to break out of her father's shadow. Not having her life revolve around football, and not having to worry about anything getting back to her father. Knowing after graduation she would be able to do just that, graduation could not come soon enough. That is until her father accepts the head Coach's position at....you got it Rusk University. The one place she thought she would get her freedom, and maybe just maybe get a date!

Instead it feels like high school all over again, with life constantly being about football.  Even going to her first Frat party with PIC (partner in crime) Stella become anxiety ridden, but she soon realizes the best thing Stella could made her do.

Its where she meets Carson McClain, and of course he has to be a football player. Even though she feels this attraction that she has never felt before towards anyone....she doesn't date football players. Been there done that, not a good idea.

But can her love for dance, and wanting to not be know as "Coach Cole's daughter" win out.

My favorite part about Dallas is that I could see a little bit of myself in her. I think that all of us are a tad bit insecure, especially when it comes to the dating world. Not wanting to get hurt so we keep certain folks at arms length, ok maybe its just me. Not only that but also wanting to find her place in the world. I think we all can relate to that, and I could not help but want to be her.

I hope that you've been won over by Dallas, but if you haven't come back next week for a new character introduction. I have no doubt that we will win you over.  ;)

Now time for the giveaway!

Also you can pre-order All Lined Up at Amazon/ Barnes and Noble. With doing so you will get a never before read scene from Losing It, between Garrick and Bliss. Football Friday: Meet Carson + Giveaway

With it being just six weeks away from the May 13th release of All Lined Up, the first book in Cora Carmack's second series. Want to know more?! Of course you do! With permission from Cora and her team, over the next six weeks you will be introduced to a new character every week by myself and the rest of the Street Team as well as Cora herself. We are all so eexcited about Cora's new series, and I can not think of a better introduction, to the characters of All Lined up. Then the main man himself, QB (Quarterback) Carson McClain!

I am currently in the middle of reading this wonderful book and can not say enough good things about Carson. He is just an average guy, wanting to play football. He comes to Rusk as a transfer student with a plan...work hard, don't get distracted, and then maybe I will get to actually play. Of course that's the plan until he meets Dallas, the coach's daughter and his world is turned upside down.

The minute that Carson and Dallas meet you can feel the chemistry between them. Its not a surprise to me that Dallas has such an attraction to Carson. He's sweet, caring, genuine, honest, and of course HOT HOT HOT!

^^Gotta say I feel the exact say way as Dallas about Carson.

All Lined Up Excerpt Release

Ahhh! I know that it has been such a long time since I last made a post! But I could not be more excited about sharing this exerpt of Cora Carmack's new book All Lined Up, which is book 1 in the Rusk University Series. The second series written by the wonderful Cora Carmack!

Book Synopsis:

"New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights."

In Texas, two things are cherishedii above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both. Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the blebyachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past. But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again. Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated. Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter. And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

Being released May 13th, make sure you..

Pre-order at: Amazon/Barnes and Noble

Now without further delay I give to you All Lined Up, by Cora Carmck!

About the Author:

Cora Carmack is a twenty-something writer who likes to write about twenty-something characters. I've done a multitude of  things in my life-- boring jobs (like working retail), Fun jobs (like working in a theatre), stressful jobs (like teaching), and dream jobs (like writing). I enjoy placing my characters in the most awkward situations possible, and then trying to help them get a boyfriend out of it. Awkward people need love, too.  I'm a New York Times and USA Today bestseller... and a nerd (mostly the nerd part). Represented by the fabulous Suzie Towsend of New Leaf Literary

I hope that you guys have enjoyed reading that exerpt as much as I loved sharing it with all of you.

And if you did enjoy it which I know from experience that you did! Please go and check out her first series Losing It. Trust me when I tell you, you wont be sorry!

Hatfields and McCoys

I am a big history fan and an even bigger Kevin Costner fan! When I saw him on Jimmy Kimmel promoting his new mini series Hatfields and McCoys I knew that it had to be good. With it being set during the civil war, which in my opinion Kevin Costner was meant for these type of period pieces. I knew I just had to watch.  Tonight is the third and final night of the mini series, but I am fairly certain that it is bound to be played and replayed over again on the History Channel. Aside from Kevin Costner the rest of the cast is amazing as well, With Bill Paxton, Tom Berenger, Matt Barr, Lindsay Pulsipher, Jena Malone, and Mare Winningham. So if you have not already been tuning in, make sure you catch up and watch the last episode. See how this legendary feud between families first began.

F Cancer

You are probably asking yourself "What is F Cancer?" This cause is designed to help spread the word on early detection of cancer. Many other important charities are focused on finding a cure, when its proven that over 90% of all cancer's are curable if detected in stage one. If it was any other disease, we'd say that a cure had been found. It is for sure important to continue research, but right now early detection is the best cure that we have right now for cancer. The funny thing is not many people are aware of that fact.

By just showing people how to detect the early signs of cancer we can save so many lives!

Recently my family was touched by cancer in the recent death of my Aunt. She fought esophageal cancer for many months before she lost her battle. If she had detected the cancer sooner and went to the doctor things might have ended differently. That is why I have recently Sophia Bush's "F Cancer" campaign on Crowdrise. Please click the link below and help raise money so we can spread the word on early detection and help save lives!

Thank you,
Kaitlan
