Are you a Dallas or a Stella?!

Graphic by: Kim Baker ( GrownUp fangirl)

Inquiring minds need to know! Are you a Dallas or a Stella?

Dallas and Stella are the two main ladies of  Cora Carmack's  new Rusk University novel, All Lined Up. They could not be more different from each other, but they are the best of friends and ar.e pretty darn awesome in thier own way

Stella: being the outgoing, 5 foot tall pixie; a foot shorter than Dallas; exotic eyes; Short dark hair; Perfectly sculpted eyebrows; Olive Skin; Pixie haircut, Unreadable; Asain ethnicity; Art major

Dallas: Prefers the company of books or movies to people; Easily self-conscious; Easily irritated; Dark red hair; Gorgeous; Has a lion’s roar; Pale skin; Heart-shaped face; Full, pouty lips; Tall; Long legs; HONEST; Bright Green eyes; Sweet vanilla scent; Dance major; Thin; Annoyed by drunken conversations and people posting pics of their food online

I took the quiz a couple of days ago and got ...

One of the cool things that Stella and Dallas have is their Stamps of Approval and Disapproval. Their own Do's and Don't of college life you could say.

Stella's is a Stamp of  Approval the: Suck. It. Up .You. Prude
Dallas' is a Stamp of Dissaproval the: Don't. Be. A. Douche

and since I am a Dallas I will show you all of Dallas' stamps that we have come up with!

Want to find out which one you are? of course you do! All you have to do is take this quiz! Let us know who you are in the comments below! :)

Also check out Cora's new blog post on the Do's and Don'ts of college life here.

“On Wednesdays we wear pink.”

Can not believe that it is 10 years to the day that Mean Girls was released on April 30, 2004! And not only was it first released today ten years ago, the best part is that the Anniversary comes up on a Wednesday! Well all know what happens on Wednesdays!

so make sure you are following the plastic fashion rules today or else...

Yea I know

Right, but I can not help it that this movie was so popular!

haha okay, okay on a much more serious note. Even though I absolutely love all these quotable moments.

Thinking about this anniversary makes me feel a little but nostalgic. I mean in 2004 I was a freshman in high school.  Now I am a college graduate, looking for a job in the real world. It's amazing how much can change in 10 years.

And what's so cool about this movie is that it is still relevant today, even 10 years later. Re watching it this morning with my mom, all of the jokes that were funny back then are still just as funny today! This movie  and some people may disagree with me saying this but, is as timeless as Dirty Dancing. People years later are still quoting "Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner!"  Its true for this movie as well. People are going to be quoting "She doesn't even go here!" Even after we are all good and dead. Well I sure hope they a
are...haha.

Here are a few more of my favorite quotable moments.

Now some cool facts about the actors/movie that you didn't know!

1. Lindsay Lohan was originally going to play Regina but was worried that the public would associate her with being a “bitch,” so she made Lorne Michaels switch her part. The producers originally cast Amanda Seyfried as Cady, but Michaels felt she would be a better Karen. (Maybe because her breasts can always tell when it’s raining?) As Chabert was born to play Gretchen Wieners, she always had that role.

2. Regina George’s character was partly inspired by Alec Baldwin from Glengarry Glen Ross.

3. Amy Poehler is only seven years older than Rachel McAdams, who plays her daughter in the film. McAdams was eight years older than Lindsay Lohan, who was the only Plastic still young enough to be playing a high schooler by the time the film was released.

4.  The movie was inspired by Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman, a non-fiction guide for parents to “[help] your daughter survive cliques, gossip, boyfriends and other realities of adolescence.”

5. The Barnes and Noble in Evanston is located right in the middle of Evanston. So, if Gretchen got diarrhea in it, she would be happy to run into almost everyone she knows afterward.

6.  In the scene when Cady asks for the “lavatory pass,” you can see the periodic table on the board behind them. On it, the table lists “silicone” as one of the elements. This is not an actual element, although “silicon” is.

7. The film initially earned an R rating from the MPAA for language and sexual content. To get a PG-13, numerous plot elements and verbal exchanges had to be toned down or taken out.

8. For the Kevin Gnapoor’s rapping scene, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler taught actor Rajiv Surendra how to rap. They recreated it for the internet, proving that Mean Girls truly is the gift that keeps on giving.

9. Mr. Duvall’s carpal tunnel was written into the script, because Tim Meadows had really broken his hand before shooting, and needed to wear a cast.

10. The tacky plastic skirts in the Christmas talent show were purposely made of plastic…to “represent the Plastics!”

Now what are some of your favorite lines/ quotes from the movie?

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn't bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter. And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

Now that you've read the about the book, lets...

Cora Carmack is a twenty-something writer who likes to write about twenty-something characters. I've done a multitude of things in my life-- boring jobs (like working retail), Fun jobs (like working in a theatre), stressful jobs (like teaching), and dream jobs (like writing). I enjoy placing my characters in the most awkward situations possible, and then trying to help them get a boyfriend out of it. Awkward people need love, too.  I'm a New York Times and USA Today bestseller... and a nerd (mostly the nerd part). Represented by the fabulous Suzie Towsend of New Leaf Literary

Football Friday: Meet the Bad Boys of All Lined Up Silas & Levi + Giveaway

Hey guess what day of the week it is?! Oh I'm just to excited, so I'll just tell you! Eek! Its FRIDAY! And we all know what that means!!!

And this week we are introducing Silas Moore and Levi Abrams! The bad boys of Cora Carmack's new Rusk University Series, All Lined Up!

And who doesn't love a good bad boy? Am I right? One of the best parts of  All Lined Up I think (except for the whole romantic and adorable love aspect.)  In this story however we don't just get one bad boy, we get TWO and they just happen to be best friends,

Now without fufurther adeau

The first and my personal favorite bad boy that I would like to introduce you to is Silas Moore!
We are first introduced to him at a Frat party. When he makes the big mistake of pissing off our heroine Dallas by being a huge Jerk! Now to figure out what he did exactly, you are going to have to go to Amazon/ Barnes & Noble to figure it out. ;)

Hunter Parrish is one of my favorite candidates for Silas. Feel free to post in comments who you think you would like most for Silas.

One of the things that I love most about Silas, is that he is such a multi-dimensional character. When you first meet him he is an arrogant, self centered, charming, and confident asshat! Now as you get to know him a little better throughout the story, you figure out there is much more to that exterior personality. Which is why I got so excited when I heard that Silas was going to be the main focus of the next book in the Rusk University series All Broke Down.

and last but not least

Then the next Gentleman, or should I say Football player/Bad Boy is Levi Abrams. Who is the ex-boyfriend of our heroine Dallas. I hate to say this, but there really are no good qualities to Levi. Except for the fact that he is really hot and plays football.

Unfortunately he is just the all around american douche bag! The total love'm and leave them kind of guy. The only person he is interested in impressing is Coach Cole, who ends up being his coach again after accepting the head coach position at Rusk. The only thing that makes me sad about Levi is I think he allowed the pressure of being a " football star" get to him. Which leads to a road much less traveled.

As you can see my perfect choice for a Levi is most definitely Michael Trevino, and if you are Vampire Diaries fan you will understand completely. My perfect description of Levi would have to by Tyler season 1 of TVD. Just like that except without having that sweet side we all love.

Football Friday: Meet Stella + Giveaway

Hello fellow readers! Another week has gone by and we are at another Football Friday! This week I am proud to introduce to you the best friend of our heroine in All Lined Up, and her name is Stella Santos!

(By: Amber Noffke)

The best word that I could think of to describe her would be firecracker. She has one hell of a personality. She is the girl that all the guys wanna date, and all the girls want her personality ( or maybe that just me..haha.)

When Stella walks into a room she exudes confidence, which I myself wish I had. She definitely knows how to make an entrance! She knows who she is and what she wants, and doesn't care which other people think.

( by: Kim Baker)

She is always there for Dallas no matter what, and is extremely protective. Especially when it came to Dallas meeting Carson. She was ready to beat the crap outta him if he hurt her.

They have been friends since high school. They have been through so much together. She is always trying to get Dallas to loosen up and have some fun, while Dallas tries to rein in the wild side that is Stella. They balance each other out, which is why I think their friendship is one of my faves!

Football Friday: Meet Dallas+ Giveaway!

Just in case you missed it, last week Football Friday's were created to introduce to you many of the wonderful characters of the new novel All Lined Up, by Cora Carmack! Carson McClain was our first Football Friday character and this week I bring you the main heroine herself, Dallas Cole!

A feisty red head, who is beyond brutally honest and a tad bit insecure. When it comes to being emotional, that's best to be left to her dancing. It's how our heroine likes to work through all of her emotions. Dallas' motto is kind of like Elsa from Frozen. Conceal don't feel because if you don't give yourself a chance to feel anything you can't get hurt. Being raised by a football coach her whole life she's learned to have tough skin.

Known all her life as "Coach Cole's Daughter" she has wanted to break out of her father's shadow. Not having her life revolve around football, and not having to worry about anything getting back to her father. Knowing after graduation she would be able to do just that, graduation could not come soon enough. That is until her father accepts the head Coach's position at....you got it Rusk University. The one place she thought she would get her freedom, and maybe just maybe get a date!

Instead it feels like high school all over again, with life constantly being about football.  Even going to her first Frat party with PIC (partner in crime) Stella become anxiety ridden, but she soon realizes the best thing Stella could made her do.

Its where she meets Carson McClain, and of course he has to be a football player. Even though she feels this attraction that she has never felt before towards anyone....she doesn't date football players. Been there done that, not a good idea.

But can her love for dance, and wanting to not be know as "Coach Cole's daughter" win out.

My favorite part about Dallas is that I could see a little bit of myself in her. I think that all of us are a tad bit insecure, especially when it comes to the dating world. Not wanting to get hurt so we keep certain folks at arms length, ok maybe its just me. Not only that but also wanting to find her place in the world. I think we all can relate to that, and I could not help but want to be her.

I hope that you've been won over by Dallas, but if you haven't come back next week for a new character introduction. I have no doubt that we will win you over.  ;)

Now time for the giveaway!

Also you can pre-order All Lined Up at Amazon/ Barnes and Noble. With doing so you will get a never before read scene from Losing It, between Garrick and Bliss. I dont know about you but I cant get enough of those two and miss those characters. If your feelings are the same as mine, its a win/win situation. :)

Now if you must know more, and I know that you do! You can check out All Lined Up on Goodreads, and read the first thirty four pages!

I just want to say Thank you to Kim for the wonderful teaser graphics! They are so completely perfect for Dallas! And another Thanks to you for stopping by! Make sure you go and check out the other street team members as well. :)
