Blog Tour, Review: All Lined Up + Giveaway

Synopsis

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

  MY REVIEW

5 out 5

All Lined Up is the first book in Cora Carmack's Rusk University Series. Which is all about football, romance, and those awkward moments that you experience in college, that you love to hate.

It's romance and football at its best. Actually this is my first series that has anything to do with football. I'm usually a more paranormal romance, vampires, and werewolves type reader. But after reading Cora's first series Losing It, and loving it I knew I would like what she wrote next.

When you first start the book all you know is that Dallas is from Texas, lives in texas, and her father is a football coach. That her and her best friend Stella are going to frat party to gain some college experience.

Dallas is the shy, follow the rules, doesn't want anything to get back to her father. As you read through the book there are way more emotions underneath the reserved exterior. Her mother left her and her father when she was younger.  So she has spent most of her time taking care of the two of them. She comes to realize that she can't keep holding everything in, that it doesn't help anyone.

Now Stella on the other hand is the complete opposite of Dallas. She is the feisty and I know what I want best friend.  She walks into a room and all eyes go to her, she oozes confidence and has always been there for Dallas. I just wish that we could of found out a little more about her. I hope that in one of the next books we get that chance.  She is such an awesome character.

In a typical romance we have the girl meets boy moment. Which is where Carson McClain enters the picture.

The transfer student, who wants more outta life than working on his parents farm. To get off the second string bench, and possibly go and play pro ball. He comes to Rusk with one thing on his mind, work hard and maybe he'll get to start.

What happened next in the book tore at my heart strings,  because you know that you want these two together. Dallas and Carson they just have a wonderful chemistry. So when they struggle, you struggle with them.

Carson being a football player was one of those things that have threatened their relationship.

Another is Levi Abrams,  the ex-boyfriend of our Dallas. Who is just an all around bad dude. Just a douche bag to the extreme. Which is kind of refreshing.  In most NA or YA there is usually a bad guy with the heart of gold, and it was nice to see that Levi was just awful...haha.

Now Silas I would qualify as the bad guy with the heart of gold. He is Levi's best friend most just follows Levi because he doesn't want to look bad in front of the other football players.  He ends up showing his good side by being there for Carson.

The story is a wonderful one, it's not like anything I have read before.  And I have read a lot of YA books. The writing is well done, and the one liners given by Stella and Dallas are phenomenal.  Not to mention the Doctor Who reference kind of hooked me. From that point I was a fangirl all the way...haha.

The thing I love about these NA novels and series, is that yes they may follow a formula. People may call them predictable. But each and everyone tells a different story. And this one does not disappoint.

Cora Carmack Definitely has another winner on her hands!

Coach Cole is ALL about football! His life completely revolves around it! He is a guy that does not take crap from anyone. Excuses for not doing well just make him angry, especially when it comes to his players. He works hard, and has the reputation of turning failing athletic programs into some of the best. He is a single parent, and his relationship with his daughter is a bit strained due to the amount of time he dedicates to football.

Although behind his rough and hard exterior, you know that there is a caring man with a heart of gold. Who only wants the best for his players and his family. Although might not be the best at showing it. :)

Cora Carmack is a twenty-something writer who likes to write about twenty-something characters. I've done a multitude of things in my life-- boring jobs (like working retail), Fun jobs (like working in a theatre), stressful jobs (like teaching), and dream jobs (like writing). I enjoy placing my characters in the most awkward situations possible, and then trying to help them get a boyfriend out of it. Awkward people need love, too.  I'm a New York Times and USA Today bestseller... and a nerd (mostly the nerd part). Represented by the fabulous Suzie Towsend of New Leaf Literary

graphic by: Kim (kimberlyfaye reads)

We are first introduced to him in the locker room, when he comes over to help spot Carson while he is lifting weights.

graphic by: Amber (GrownUp Fangirl)

He is the team manager, and I felt an instant connection to Ryan the minute he started talking to Carson. He is just the genuine guy, who has no alternative agenda. Likes to help out his friends. Has a great sense of humor, and in the worlds of Stella Santos "surprisingly dirty!"

graphic by: Amber (GrownUp Fangirl)

My favorite Ryan if I had to choose a celebrity would definitely be Alex Pettyfer, and along with the picture is another teaser!

Swoon, go ahead its alright...I shall wait. Ryan is that good of a guy!
