quote of the Day
Jane: [nervous] Nothing.
Kevin: Are those...?
Jane: No!
Kevin: Are they bridesmaid dresses?
Jane: This is none of your business!
Kevin: Oh... good God. What, you kept them all? You have a whole closetful? Why?
Jane: I have a lot of friends and I like to keep them.
Kevin: [snickering] Right. Well, that makes complete sense because they're... *beautiful*.
Jane: Some of them are not that bad.
Kevin: Not that bad? I'd like to see one of them that's not that bad.
Was watching 27 Dresses today, couldn't help myself...lol Hope it made you laugh

Crusing to Alaska(Part 3)
Glow in the dark cowboy suits, how cool is that. It was the neatest thing to see live! Wish the picture could do it better justice.
This guy could play the fiddle like no other, he was amazing!!!!
The Piano Man show took place on July 26th and the Western show was on July 28th. They were both spectacular.
The night after the Western Show my mother and I decided to stay and see what else was going on in the theatre. This is at about 10 o'clock at night. It turned out that a version on the newlywed game was going to be played, with people from the audience. It was amazing, they needed 3 couples. One couple that had been newly married, a couple that had been married between 10-30 yrs, and lastly a couple 50 yrs or more. They did the oldest couple first and they had been married for 40 or 50 years and were from Utah. They were so sweet to each other and the best part was they had one of their children in the audience with his wife....lol. Our cruise director Carly was like "now there are going to be parts of the show when Auntie Carly is going to tell you to cover your ears, its for your own good." You had to be there but it was hysterical. Then there was the middle couple, in order to get picked the guy picking the couples on stage had the couples act out a scene. He told the couples " pretend that your in a movie and your acting out that passionate kissing scene, the one the audience likes the most gets to play." So all of the couples were pretty much pg-pg13, then their comes this other couple and I will never forget his name...oh dave...haha. Him and his wife used the stairs for the stage as a prop. She ran up the stairs and Dave ran after her while taking his shirt off and started making out with his wife. Let me just tell you it was quite the scene. I kept telling my mom "I cant handle this!" The way they picked the newly married couple was hysterical though. The husband had to be Tarzan and the wife of course had to be Jane. The wife had to say "Tarzan, Tazan! Where's my Tarzan" and "Tarzan" could say whatever he wanted. Well all of the couples had gone and there was only one left but the woman's husband had gone for drinks. She's like I can play both parts Im very versatile. The guy on stage is like ugh...I dont think so unless your husband comes back your gonna have to pass. Thankfully the woman's husband comes back and he has no idea whats going on. The guy on stage is like "so you ready Tarzan" and the guy just has this blank stare on his face, like what has my wife gotten me into. The guy finally agrees to go along with it and they act out the scene and some one else yelled the guys part for him...lol. It was great, they ended up doing it again and winning. The whole game was amazing, everyone was cracking up.
The next day the 29th of July we landed in Skagway, Alaska. I swear it was the smallest town that I have ever been to in my life. My mom and I got up early that morning and went on our planned excursion. We went on a Ghost/Brothel Museum tour. It was hysterical, our tour guide made us create our own Lady of the Night names (thats what they were called back in the day
..lol). Its the name of your first pet and the name of your street, mine was Bunny Mulberry St.
Our tour guide
A real life Brothel house, no longer in use of course. There is an interesting story, when they moved the Red Onion to this corner the moved it backwards. So they cut of the back and the front and switched it, because it was easier than turning the whole thing around.
This was their version of a billboard. They would paint their companies name on the side of the mountain.
The next day July 30th was spent at sea. There really wasn't much that was done during the day. But that night after dinner there was the choir's performance. We spent the day practicing and it was super hard trying to sing on that stage. That night when we were singing the choir was swaying so badly that the whole choir was moving, but we were luckily moving the same way...lol.
Our beautiful choir in the Broadway Melodies theatre on the ship.
Then the next place we went was Victoria, BC. This was by far my favorite place the entire trip. This was also the last time that we docked before we made it back to port in Seattle, WA. The choir sang in this beautiful park. Sadly the whole time we were there it was rainy and muggy, but we sang and it was awesome! The town was so beautiful and the houses were adorable. I kept telling my mother that I wanted to live on one of their houses. It was like going back in time a little. It was also Canada Day while we were there, which was awesome! I have never seen so many people involved in an independence day anywhere. Not even here in the good old U.S.A. But it was so neat, there were musicians on the street playing music, everyone was wears either red or white. It was so nice to see. We went on a tour of the city after getting something to eat.
That was all that we had time for before we had to get back to the ship. After that we spent the next day and a half on the ship.
The night before we docked was so much fun. After the choir went to dinner and changed there was this game called "The Quest." Im not sure if any of you have heard of it before but it is the funnest game that I have ever played. They divide the room up into 6 or 7 teams depending on the amount of people. We were team 2 and it was great. They had us do the most outrageous things..haha.
For instance the one task was a man had to fun up to the center of the dance floor holding 6 bra;s in his hand. I have never seen women take off their bras as fast as the woman on our team did...lol. Another task was two men had to be wearing the same pair of pants and skip around the dance floor. Another one was the shortest person from your group had to run up to the center of the dance floor. Of course that was me..lol. Sadly I did not win :(. But everyone had so much fun and its an experience that I will never forget. I only wish that I had gotten pictures....lol.
Thats the end of my trip! It was a trip that I am never gonna forget. I encourage all of you to go and visit these places. They are filled with wonderful stories and wonderful people. You wont regret it. The guy who gave us our tour in Victoria, BC was actually going to be going on the same exact tour that we were on, it was the funniest thing.
Thats all for now, I'll probably post some more pictures either later tonight or tomorrow.
Have a good day everyone

Crusing to Alaska(Part 2)
Back again as promised with some more pictures and details about my trip to Alaska. In the last entry I talked about the first three days of the trip and the first two days on the actual ship. If you count the day we boarded.
Day 3(on the ship)
We docked in Juneau, Alaska, which we all know is the capital. Since I was on this trip with my school choir there was not a lot of free time on this day. the choir was scheduled to sing at a local church for a 5pm mass and had to be there by 3pm there was no time to schedule any excursions on our own. So the school went ahead and scheduled one for the whole group. Which I was pretty excited about, we went and saw Mendenhall Glacier. it was absolutely beautiful. The view seriously looked the view in the Sound of Music. I took pictures of course to show you all, but in no way will it do the view proper justice.
It was so cool going and seeing the glacier. When we went into the visitors center she said that the weather they were having while they were there was warm for them. That on hot days they go and swim in the glacier water. I could not have even imagined that, I was wearing a shirt, sweat shirt and a windbreaker...haha. It was cold, but I guess they are used to that up there. They would have to be.
From the Glacier we went to the church where we were scheduled to sing. We stopped to grab some food on the way. When we got to the church it was absolutely gorgeous. I only wish that I had taken pictures inside the church. It was one of the most modern churches that I have ever seen and it was in Juneau, Alaska....haha. (Random fact did you know that Juneau is the only capital in the USA that you can not drive into, you have to be flown in or take a boat. I thought that was so neat). When you walked in the pews were set up in like a triangle set up. There were pews on either side of the church across from each other, then a set along the back wall. Then the alter was in the center of the church. It was really neat and I enjoyed singing there, hopefully if we ever go back we can sing there again.
Sorry again for the long wait guys. Part 3 will be up in a few days.

Crusing to Alaska
ok enough of that, lets get to the good stuff. My cruise to Alaska!!! :)
The day that we left we flew into Seattle, Washington. We had to get up at 5 am so that we could get to the airport by 6, since we had an 8am flight. Once we boarded our plane we landed in Seattle at about 12 or 1pm, since we had been gaining hours the whole time we were flying. Let me tell you, gaining hours totally messes with your head. Your body thinks that its 5pm when its only 2 and all you wanna do is just sleep...lol. After Landing in Seattle we checked into the hotel and everyone was already planning to go downtown, see the Space Needle and walk around. We all grabbed some pizza at around 4 and then headed downtown. The Space Needle was so amazing. The view from the top was spectacular. You could see everything, although my mom and I had a little trouble while we were up there. We constantly felt like we were moving. Not a very pretty feeling. While we were up there though we got to see Mount Reineer. Its so big that you can't ever see the whole thing. The top just looks like its floating.
(pictures below are the cruise ship "Rhapsody of the Sea", Space Needle, Mount Reineer, lastly then lastly the Starbucks Headquarters.)
e S
We all took pictures then went back to the hotel for the night to get ready for our cruise the next day. We were all super excited. The next morning went pretty quickly. Once we got up and out of the hotel everything was kind of a blur till we got on the ship. The ship was absolutely gorgeous. As soon as it was spotted everyone was oooing and aaaaaing, along with snapping pictures. The inside was even better. Im actually sad that I didnt take many pictures inside the ship. For the rest of that night and next day we spent at sea. It was a little rough at first, but our bodies all adjusted pretty well. One we got on the ship everyone was pretty much trying to get their bearings and figure out where everything was, it was a pretty big ship...lol. I only wish that I had taken more pictures of the inside of the ship.
Those were just the first two days. The first day we had on the ship was spent at sea. It was a little weird waking up in a pitch black room. Since we had an inside state room there were no windows and I just wanna say that they are very important. When there is no light shining in the room your body still thinks that it s night. So my body the whole day was kind of in a daze. That was not fun. But we walked around and participated in a scavenger hunt around the ship. That was fun. It was a pretty relaxing day. We just sat around read, took naps, ate food, and watched the sea. It was glorious, there is nothing better than just being able to take your me and not have to worry about rushing around when your on vacation.
(Me with Sizzle the snake, our towel animal that we used on the scavenger hunt, then the view from the ship, and lastly the moon from the deck of the ship.)
So Sorry that has taken me so long to write about this trip. I feel horrible about my lack of updates. Promise there will be another one very soon with pictures and details of part 2 of my trip. :)

Quote of the Day
"Look, in my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what-have-you. The right person is still going to think the sun shines out of your ass. That's the kind of person that's worth sticking with." - 'Juno'

Just as Promsised some good news! :)
I know that my last blog was basically doom and gloom and I am sorry about that. It was just getting to the point where I needed to express my feelings in so way. Writing just seemed to be the perfect outlet for me. Which is weird, because I was never the writer in my group of friend.
Anyway...on to the good news.
Drum roll please........
I GOT A JOB!!!! Yes ladies and gentleman, I Kaitlan am a working person in society!! I just got the news yesterday. I had applied to this one place about two weeks ago and I was really hoping that things would work out. I had been waiting to get a phone call from them for a little while, when last Friday I got a call from the the woman in charge of hiring. I was out at the time and had missed the call. So of course I called her back when I got home and of course she had stepped out....lol. So this whole week this woman and I have been literally playing phone tag. That was until yesterday, when I gave the store a call and the woman I had been wanting to speak to was actually there! I was so excited. We got to talking and see was saying how she wasn't sure if I was still interesting in working because I would not be needed until mid July. As soon as she said that I was overjoyed, because as most of you know I am going on a cruise and I wouldn't be back until the second week in July anyway. So we got to talking me and she had told me that I could come in before I left or after I got back. I told her that it would not be a problem for me to come in to talk about hours and wages and things before I left. She said that was great, they could give me a tour talk and then once I got back from the trip I could start training. when I got off the phone I could not stop smiling. Silly I know, but I could not help myself...lol. This just took a huge weight off of my shoulders and it was amazing to be free of that burden.
Thanks all for listening. Hope y'all are having a wonderful night/day :)

Just some thoughts
Im not sure if any of you guys are going to be reading this because my blogs have been kind of scarce lately, but I thought that I would give it a shot anyway...
Have you every felt that you wasting your time and everybody else's? I know that doesn't make sense, but sometimes I feel that I am just wasting everyone's time. That I am a complete failure, at home and at school. I mean I dont have a job right now, even though I have applied to a couple of places. Im hoping that I get a few interview, but even those dont guarantee a job. Lastly Im not doing so stellar at school. I may have made it above a 3.0 for the semester, but my overall GPA is about a 2.95 and this just makes me feel horrible. All of my friends are doing amazing in school, my one friend Nick has made deans list every semester that he has been in school. It just makes me wonder, whats wrong with me? If they can do it why can't I?I tried so hard this semester and there was still that one class that is always there that ruins everything. Sometimes I feel that I should forget about school and just live at home, working at some crummy place. I know this is me having a huge pity party, but I am not going to be able to sleep unless I get this out somewhere ya know.
I just want to stop feeling this way. That for some reason im not good enough, because lately that seems to be all that I am feeling. And I dont know how to make it go away. I know that deep down I know the answer, but I dont think im ready to acknowledge that yet.
I gonna go and try to get some sleep now. Hopefully getting all of this off my chest helps. Hope y'all have a good night. Promise next time there will be a much happier blog entry, one with no brooding. Thanks for listening.

Alaska Crusie, Lent, and 40 days for Life
I know that it has been awhile, so I thought that I would leave you guys a quick update. School has been going well. Nothing to crazy right now, which I am pretty glad about. Been hanging out with friends and trying to find a job so I can save up money to go and visit a few friends of mine. I mentioned awhile back that I am going to be going on a cruise to Alaska with the choir from school this coming June. I am very excitedd and I am hoping that I will be able to arrange some things that way I can go and visit Raquel in California. Keep your fingers crossed :). I have to still fill out a couple of forms and give them a couple more payments, but other than that things are going smoothly with the planning.
Lent also began yesterday...I decided to give up all junk food. Lord give me strength. Usually I give up soda, but I figured that I should switch it up this year. It sounds like I am complaining, but it is totally not meant for it to be that way. I actually look forward to it every year, grated its hard, but if jesus can walk the desert for 40 days being tempted by the devil and die on the cross for our sins, I can go 40 days without junk food.
Another 40 days for life campain started. This is going to be going on the entire time of lent. If anyone is interested just click the picture below to get more info.
Hope all is well with everyone. Feel free to leave comments about what you all are giving up for lent. I would love to hear it. :)
Also quick update about my clinical instructor Danielle and her fiance Mike. You remember how I told you all that she had entered that Love of a Lifetime: Wedding Giveaway. Well they made it to the top ten after beating out over 200 some couples, and I am sad to say that they did not win the contest :(. The winners were another very nice couple, who I am sure deserved it just as much. Thank you to those who went and voted for them.

Take the Pledge, Make your car a No Phone Zone!
I was watching Oprah recently with my mother and this episode really hit home. It was about people who had been hurt or killed because of people who were either talking on their phone or texting. Along with the people who had to deal with the fact that it was their fault that someone got hurt because they were using their phone while driving. There was one story that broke my heart!
In November 2008, Shelly and her husband, Daren, were the happily married parents of three beautiful girls, 13-year-old Jessica, 9-year-old Erica and 4-year-old Valerie. "Erica is my little sunshine because she lit up the house," she says. "She was making us laugh before she was a year old."
Two days before Thanksgiving, Shelly came back from a doctor's appointment to find emergency crews on her street. "There were all these people and a child lying on the ground," she says. "I had no idea it was my daughter." Daren says Erica was riding her bike home from school. "Erica was just around the corner from our house," he says. "She was 30 seconds from being home safely."
Erica had been hit head-on by a 5,000-pound SUV. Police say that the driver had recently finished a phone call at the time of the accident. "The driver said: 'I'm so sorry. I didn't see her,'" Shelly says. "I felt badly for the driver because I thought: 'Oh, she's unconscious. She's going to be okay.' … And they started cutting my daughter's clothes off and it was hitting me this is very, very, very serious."
Erica was rushed to the local Children's Hospital, then airlifted to another facility. "The neurosurgeon made it very clear she was going to die," Shelly says. "I spent the night with her that night. I held her. Cried. I kissed her. I sang to her. I just needed to have time with my girl."
That Little girl was 30 seconds and either 11 or 15 pedals, PEDALS away from her home. When I saw that I just burst into tears. I realized that could happen to anyone of us. I am or was guily of text/talking on my phone while driving. Today I took the NO PHONE ZONE Pledge and I am never going to use my phone while driving again. This show opened my eyes to the fact that I have been one of the lucky ones. I have not been in any accidents due to using my phone. I have been thanking god everyday for that. I felt the need to tell you all because I care about you guys to much to let anything happen to you or allow you to carry that burden of hurting someone because you were distracted by driving. Please take the Make Your Car a No Phone Zone Pledge! Just click the picture below and it will take you directly where you need to go.

March 4 Life
Hey Guys,
You all know that I am passionate about the Pro-Life movement. Well yesterday was the annual March 4 Life in Washington D.C and in Los Angeles, CA. This walk is to make people aware of how important this movement is to our society and the world. We as pro-lifers are trying to create a culture of life and to show that there are other options out there than abortion. It was created as a non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization.
It was started in October of 1973 when grassroots Pro-Lifers became concerned that come January 22, 1974 might just come and go with out having the Supreme Courts decision about abortion properly memorialized or redressed. At the time, no established right-to-life organization was prepared to undertake the planning, financial and operational responsibilities for a high impact prolife March on the U.S. Capitol. But, grassroots prolifers wanted to march! About thirty prolife veterans resolved themselves into a committee and began making plans for the first March for Life.
Since that first march on January 22, 1974 with 20,000 people, the number have only continued to grow. They have reached an estimated 250, 000. I have a feeling that those numbers are only going to continue to increase. Sadly I have never been able to attend the March 4 Life, but I am already planning on going next year with a group of friends.
Hope all is well and if anyone would like more information, please feel free to send me a message or go to this link March 4 Life

Blast from the Past
Hey guys,
So today I'm hanging out with my friends and I get this notification from facebook on my phone. It was a friend request from someone that I have not talked to in years! I'm not gonna name names, but she was a really good friend of my mom's and she has known me since I was practically born. After she got married we all kind of lost touch.
I mean we tried to get in touch, but it just never happened. We were all sad when that happened because all of us were so close. She was over all the time, took me to my riding lessons. It felt like we lost a member of the family.
I remember this one time we were driving either to or from her house and she stopped the car. She put me on her lap and let me steer the car the rest of the way. It wasn't much but it's something I will always remember.
So today when I saw that it was her, I just could not believe it. Facebook is amazing in that way, allowing old friends to reconnect. I know that my mom is going to flip when she hears this story.
I hope now that we have found each other and gotton back in touch. We won't loose contact again.
Hope all of you are having a wonderful day :).

Resolutions for 2010
2009 has been quite the year and I am looking forward to what 2010 has to offer! I am usually not one to make new years resolutions, but this year I have decided to make a change!
I want to eat healthier and change my life style around. I know people say this all the time, but I have a cruise that I am going on come june and a wedding come july. I want to look good for both...lol.You guys are helping me, because saying that out loud is holding me accountable and I don't want to make myself look bad...lol.
The other thing is...I want to get my act together with school. I have been in there for almost 3 years its about time I start taking things seriously! The nursing program means too much for me to screw it up now after finally getting in, but sadly with what happened and me haveing to wait a semester to retake a course has shown me just how much being a nurse truly means to me.
I wish you all the best for this wonderful, exciting new year and I would love to hear about some of your resolutions for this year as well, feel free to share :)

Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year everyone!! Wow 2009 sure has been one crazy year! This year has flown by so fast, but I am more than ready to get into the next decade of my life. With everything that has happened this year a fresh start is always a good thing. I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas holiday with family and friends.
Now I must give a shout out to Southern Gothic Productions!
This year, Southern Gothic Productions launched the first episode of their web series, Friendship Union Community Theatre. Also know as F.U.C.T. Another miles stone was when they launched their first short film, The true-love Tale of Boyfriend and Girlfriend. Both of these were directed by the fantabulous man, Nicholas Grey. There were also performances done by the lovely Hilarie Burton. Not to mention all of the new stylish clothing that they have created for us, the wonderful fans of SoGoPro.
One more shout out to Bethany Joy Galeotti, look out for her adaptation of The Notebook being turned into a musical. It should be a wonderful and exciting thing to see. Keep your eyes peeled.
Best Wishes to you all for this New Year!!
